The Year In Private Security 2015

2015 has been riddled with news stories of mass shootings, and the public’s cry for better security has been heard. As the fear of crime is worse than the crime itself, this year has shown the needs for professional private security services has increased.

Reputable and premier area private security companies have been able to step up and handle the new responsibilities, for even the most arduous of tasks.

We want to recap some of the changes and industry improvements that have occurred in private security throughout the year of 2015.

Examples Of 2015 Private Security Industry Needs & Changes

  • Schools Are Hiring Private Security – Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio signed a bill that would allow parochial and private schools to hire private security guards to protect their schools. Where once police officers were in schools, private security guards are now replacing them for the specialized protection they offer.
  • Drones In Private Security – With the increase in the use of drones, the private security industry has found a way to use the new technology. Drones have been able to help security guards increase surveillance details that were once limited before. The ability to monitor traffic in where they were once hindered by static cameras. And the alternative to helicopters, as the drone is inexpensive and can be deployed instantly.
  • Active Shooter Protection – As active shooter incidents happen in small or medium-sized communities, police departments are limited. From a shooting at a holiday party in San Bernardino to the Planned Parenthood shootings in Colorado Springs, there have been many examples of active shootings in America. That’s where highly trained private security guards have been able to step in. With a better training standard, active shooters can be prevented or stopped in a quicker fashion.
